A boy in liberated Kherson – November 2022.

On November 11, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine successfully liberated and regained control of the city of Kherson, as well as other areas within the Kherson Oblast and portions of the Mykolaiv Oblast situated on the right bank of the Dnipro River, previously under Russian occupation since March 2, 2022. The Russian Armed Forces, having held the city for several months, withdrew to the left bank of the Kherson Oblast between November 9th and 11th, 2022.
Upon the arrival of Ukrainian forces, the citizens of Kherson erupted in cheers and jubilant celebrations within the city square. In this photo, you can see a Ukrainian boy getting a soldier’s signature on his blue and yellow flag.
